New Oscar Category

The board of governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted to activate the 'animated feature film' category for the 76th Academy Awards. Now, as a fan of animation, I am pleased to hear this...in general. however, the ugly flipside to this is that this just means Disney will snag another Oscar every year that goes to someone more deserving. Any they DON'T get will go to Don Bluth's crew. One can only hope Pixar makes good and DOES break with Disney...just so they can make Disney look bad (*heh heh*).

Still, like I said, I'm hard-pressed to believe that any really GOOD animated stuff will take an award in this category. On the other hand, there's not much that makes it to American silver screens that IS animated and not Disney/Pixar/Don Bluth.

*sigh* I hate it here.
