Tongue-Tied

I'm starting to think that, as I get older, I need to just shut the Hell up. I find myself, more and more, making snide comments that are better left unsaid, and frequently those result in discussions that I don't feel like having, or arguments with people who have no intention of actually discussing the matter. To many times lately, I've shot my mouth off, only saying something on my mind, and found that I then have to go into a long, rambling missive to back it up, only to be responded to with more drama.

It's not that I think I need to express myself less...no worries there, kids. I just really need to learn that people are just dumb enough to take me up on some of these things, and more than dumb enough not to get them when they are explained.

The older I get, the more crotchety, cynical, and nihilistic I get.
