Art In Motion

Before anything else, I want to thank you guys. Partially, I want to thank you for your support, but mostly I want to thank you for intelligent support. It would have been all too easy to just mindlessly say "Yeah, me too!" or something equally in agreement but pointless. instead, though, I found the support and smiles that comes from friends, the way it should be...and that helped a lot.

Now then, on with the show: I've always found that some of my best creativity comes when I'm annoyed. I guess it's that, since I'm in a freaky mood, I become a bit of a perfectionist about whatever I'm doing. I don't want to have something else screw up, if I'm pissed off...and thus, some of my best work emerges. Today, darkboy23 got the full extent of my creative rush. This icon...OK, it may not really LOOK like much, but it was a complex bit of engineering to pull off...

Because I had to make two different animations in Xara3D, export each one, open them in ImageReady, resize each to compensate for the space, and then, frame by frame, paste them into a new picture, each time getting a frame from each, erasing the ring to allow for the full 3D effect, and merging them together...22 times. Then go back, and do some careful erasing and fixing of each frame, to clean up the pixelation, animate the whole damn thing, and crop and resize to get it down under 40Kb. An hour and a half...Yeesh!

However, regardless of the time and energy spent, I'm very happy with it. Hope he is, too.
