Long Day
Man, just not a "weekend" per se, huh?
Up and at'em this morning. Why? Well, started off with waking up to find the neck and shoulders in great pain. Then, got a text message, right off the bat, asking if I could get hold of someone, as they were slightly missing. Luckily, this wasn't a problem, and it was easily remedied, but it definitely got me started. Go pick up Erik, and remember that he is having his best buddy Ryan over today, in fact, he's sleeping over at our house. Now, Ryan is a good kid, very smart...but he is the runtiest little thing you've ever seen. Tiny, weak, coke-bottle glasses, speaks with a lisp...just has all strikes against him, socially. On top of that, he's quite excitable, kinda loud, and doesn't seem to notice his immediate surroundings (kinda off in la-la-land, you know)? Oh joy.
Off to the in-laws, where I proceed to screw up my back and wrist, helping Ray buck up some firewood. Eventually, return to the house, to attempt to handle two hyper young boys running about the house.
Don't get me wrong, though...it was a pretty good time. Always good to see Erik interacting with someone his own age and having a good time. And Ryan's a polite kid, too, so it's all good.
But I was quite happy when they went to bed...which is where I'm headed.
