Pimpin'
I'm normally my own worst critic, when it comes to graphic work...but every now and then, I'm damn proud of something I've done. This happens to be one of those days. Not because it's artistic, but because it's not.

OK, for a project I'm in the midst of, I needed one of those DVD screens that you put in a car,the kind that flips down from the ceiling...and I needed it animated. Well, take my word for it...this is not an easy graphic to find. That means I have to make it myself.

Oh fun.

So, I started with this:

Armed with that pic, a few strokes of the ol' paintbrush tool, some distortion, and a lot of skill, I managed to make this:

I feel like God. ;)

It was definitely a test of my skills.

Yeah, what a bitch! I was so happy that it turned out so close to "real". Man, some of the orders I get...

The worst part is that I feel very slimy...this graphic will end up being mailed out as spam! Man, talk about your moral conflicts...LOL

Before, actually. Hey, their money is as good as anyone else's...and if you don't have good spam filters, that's not MY problem. ;)

My morals run for about a buck and a quarter these days... and the quarter is negotiable.

And I just realized that I know exactly how much your morals are on the open market ;)

And how much would that be? ;)

Good work! You know it's good because it doesn't look like anything special. :)
God of Thunder and Rock'n'Rollarchmage on August 25th, 2004 06:32 pm (UTC)
Exactly...that's why I was impressed with myself; it didn't LOOK like work.

It's a shame that there are exactly two people in my company that understand this concept.

Well, good to know there are at least two brains in the office.
The Cynic: nycdiscordian on August 25th, 2004 08:27 pm (UTC)
Notice, if you will, that neither one of the two brains thinks you're a condescending, no talent smart ass. Ok... well... we both know you're a smart ass, and I know just how condescending you really are, but we admire both of those qualities.

loooks cool.

I'd only suggest adding a little bit of a gradient to the backside of the screen to give it a tiny bit of texture like the rest of the plastic bits.

:)
God of Thunder and Rock'n'Rollarchmage on August 26th, 2004 09:09 am (UTC)
Yeah, that was the only thing i noticed that bugged me wonce I was done. I considered fixing it, and then realized this was getting shrunk down anyway, and that i didn't want to put any more work into something that was going out as spam anyway. ;)
Deechsavrille on August 26th, 2004 09:13 am (UTC)
I applaud your moral ambiguity.
